We'd advise against it. Promise a ship-by date ("orders placed by 15 Dec are posted by 17 Dec") and keep it. If you agree a delivery date that was essential to the customer and miss it, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 may let them end the contract.

What counts as handling time?

The dispatch days from an order arriving to it being handed to the carrier: making or personalising, picking, packing, and getting it to the Post Office, ParcelShop or collection. For made-to-order items, use your busiest-week figure.

Why add a safety buffer?

Peak goes wrong in small ways: a missed collection, illness, a printer failure, snow. One spare dispatch day keeps your promise intact.

Does the calculator count bank holidays?

Yes. It skips Sundays, Saturdays (unless you tick the box), and 25, 26 and 28 December and 1 January.
